Was that a typo? Do you mean it is cosequin or something else? If cosequin, ask your NYC vet if it can be given since Benny is already on so many medications. Generally, cosequin for cats can be given with other medications, but it is always best to ask the vet first so he can review what meds Benny is on.

I don't understand, if you knew Benny's tail was like this when his liver condition surfaced, and you're just bringing this up now? Did the NYC vet see the tail when Benny was there? I would suggest asking him about it.

I think it would also be a good idea to get Benny's bloodwork rechecked.

Is there any way you can consult with the NYC vet (phone or email?)

Yes cosequin, sorry.
Yes, that is why i have not given it to him, because I have not done bloods
I cannot get dr here, he has cancelled 3 times
I noticed it first in sept and we treated with shampoo and went away
It was not there in feb when we were in nyc.
I mentioned it of course but he said there was no connection
He said it was just over active glands
I will email him about it again.

Whenever there is folliculitis or pyoderma, one can use antibiotics to try to prevent (or treat) pustules. The pred Benny is on should be taking care of any inflammation in the tail.

I'm not sure exactly what the NYC vet meant by cefa liquid, could have been cefa-drops, but you need to confirm that with his clinic, and tell them what your vet has available for antibiotics so they can review/confirm/advise which one. I would think amoxicillin or clavamox would be sufficient, but ask the NYC vet clinic.

I find it strange the NYC vet didn't know what stud tail is.

i tried to see his tail again last night and just the slightest touch on his hair hurts now..so it must be done today with the medicines..
thanks again..
im still on the fence about the suplements..im scared bc frankkly hes doing so well..i dont want to upset the mix..

Yes, cefa-drops is an oral suspension, usually dosed twice a day. Make darn sure your Mexico vet has the proper medication and the proper dose for Benny.

If you feel Benny's tail hurts, then cease the baths for now, see how he responds to the cefa-drops, should start seeing effect/improvement within 3-5 days hopefully.
