The "Cat" vet said she was in the right weight bracket even though she has lost weight each time we took her in. The regular vet is the one who said she was on the fat side. Of course this was before she got so sick with the ear thing.

The cat vet said it could take up to 6 months for the nerve damage to heal so she is not ruling out at this point her deafness is for the rest of her life.

It seems her tastes have completely changed. The treats she use to love were soft, but she turns her nose up at them now so I don't think the crunching sound relative to the dry food issue is the problem. She always has been a big eater. I like to see animals eat. But now even with the canned, she will eat a little and walk away.

I have always beleived after having 3-4 bird dogs all the time for the past 30 years that dry food is more beneficial for the animal. Most canned foods are full of water and lack substance. I only use canned as an addition to the dry when on hunting trips. We have tried this with Callie but it does not work.

Will try different brands of dry and see if we can find one she will eat and gradually get away from the canned.
