I'm not absolutely sure as to all of Michael's reasons. I know the main is we just don't have room in our apt and sometimes our two kittens are too much. I'm used to alot of animals whereas he grew up w/ a cat that's really lazy and a small dog It's kind of one of those opposites attract kind of things I guess. I understand though b/c financially we just can't afford another two pet deposits but I still feed and water these two cats. I thought about taking them to like Petsmart at their Adoption Center but I'm being selfish b/c I don't want to be separated from these two. Even though the kitten won't let me that close to him. I'm such a puddle of goo on the floor when it comes to animals As for my parents the cats would stay outdoors on about 43 acres and that's what I meant when I said I had two cats disappear from there after I moved out. I don't really want to do that. Is it a possiblity to take them to an adoption place but still get them back later on when I can afford too? Stupid selfish thoughts of mine though don't even want to do any of this....I just want to steal them away:-)
Re: Tough Decision
You cannot ask for a cat back once you allow Petsmart to put them up for adoption. Adoption is just that, to adopt the kitty into a new home.
If you are letting your emotions override your priorities, then it would be best for both cats for you to find them a loving home, preferrably that they are kept together. You can call Petsmart and ask them about their program, their policies and see if they will even take them for adoption, but I don't know if it would be possible for them to keep the cats together.
Did you call elsewhere to see about rescue organizations and/or foster kitty parents?

I think the best for you AND the cats would be to put them up for adoption. That way they'll have a loving home and you won't have to worry about them. Is it possible to put a condition such as "Can only be adopted together"? Or could you have the option of taking them back if they are not adopted?
Best would be to bring them to one of the organisations that take care of strays and then keep in contact with with the people there. You could visit the cats there, watch their progress, and maybe even meet the people that finally adopt them.
Or you could ask Tambrey? He wants to adopt, right?

Re: Tough Decision
I do foster kittens/cats and then try to find good homes for them...I mostly use word of mouth and my two vet offices to post flyers on their boards...
currently we have ten cats in the house, but four are available for adoption...and I would love to keep Sissy and Majik together as they are brother and sister and have just always been together and play well together...and I hate to just send a single cat to a single home...they need companionship from ohter cats...
Talk to your vet as well...maybe put an ad in your local paper...but be careful to screen the people first and make sure your babies are going to a good home
That is why I still have ten cats...DH says I am too picky...but these are my babies....most I have hand riased from baby BABY kittens...and I only want the best for them...they are spoiled...people loving cats who are not the aloof kind that most people think about...my babies thrive on people's laps and shoulders and love lots of attention...

Re: Tough Decision
Talked to Petsmart today and they can't do it b/c of them being outdoors cats and a couple of other reasons. My bf and I keep fighting b/c he's threatening to call the Animal Shelter on them if I take them w/ me and leave them outside even if it's a temporary thing until I can get them a home. My vet is in Chandler about an hour away. I just don't know and am almost tempted to leave them right now b/c as someone said they found me they could find someone else.
Re: Tough Decision
I will ask this (for the third time)...have you called the humane society, vets, pet stores to find out about rescue organizations and foster care folks?

Re: Tough Decision
Just wanted to say something....Michael apologized to me for his comments and agreed that we may keep ahold of them until we can get them a home...which I'm still looking at doing. That helps though.....
Re: Tough Decision
That's a good development! I'm glad! Thanks for letting us know.
