Layla has some "bug bites" around her neck.. Possi
Re: Layla has some "bug bites" around her neck.. P
I definitely understand. Having had 2 dogs with terrible flea allergies, I know how awful they can be. One flea bite would send them into a scratching/chewing frenzy, usually with resultant hot spots. It's no fun, but is managable.

Mike, you should never NOT worry, nor leave anything unchecked.
Fleas can be vectors of several serious disease (like mycoplasma, AKA feline hemobartonellosis, a very serious immune disease), not to mention others that can leave a pet in serious condition. A flea allergy can cause any pet some serious distress.
Thanks for being observant and getting Layla to your vet, glad to hear things have been checked and she's being treated. Keep us updated on how she's doing, k?

Hope Layla is doing better and very glad to know you are of the better safe than sorry type! The owner/head of the vet hospital we go to once called me "neurotic" when it comes to my cats. I just gave him a seething look with the comment that I can go and make another vet's pockets fat.

Thanks everyone for the info on what it may have been! She is doing much better and I have not seen her itching at all anymore. She only has 1 bump that I can feel anymore on her neck and none of us have been bitten either so hopefully that is the end of it!
