Hi I am most of these have been answered but I can not find them
Kittens are 3 weeks old today
I know clumpping litter is bad for kittens. However when should I remove it from the room ( mom cat uses it )
What kind of litter is best for them
Do I give them a different box from mom cat or the same ( 7 kittens dont think 1 would be enough)
When should I try them on real food
I know this a a bit sorry and thank you for any and all help
Kitten help a few questions
Re: Kitten help a few questions
Clay litter would be best at this point, I'm sure momma cat won't mind the change. She will be introducing them to the litterbox soon enough (probably between 4-6 weeks of age), or they will instinctively learn from her as she uses it.
They can be weaned to solid food at about 4 weeks of age, providing they are interested. Some kittens aren't fully interested until later, such as between 5-7 weeks of age. You can start them on Iams canned kitten food, attempt to introduce them a couple times a day, they will let you know if/when they are interested. If momma kitty allows them to continue nursing past 5-6 weeks of age, I would consider getting her spayed immediately, and seperating her from the kittens during her recovery, this will allow them more time and individual attention to be weaned onto solid food.
Kittens can navigate just about any sized litterbox, so size really doesn't matter, and yes, they can share momma kitty's litterbox. As they grow and develop, and if you are considering keeping them, then one or two more in the home would be ideal.
