neutering

Post by kelly »

why is it that vets over here will not neuter until the cat is 6ths old???? :cat:
I would like mine done as soon as possible as with him being unwell (the ear and eye) he will be in the house for a good while and i dont want him to spray!!
if no one claims or decides to home the 3mth tabby male kitten in the vets i will want him done for the same reason!!
can i push the vet to do it earlier??
or will it harm the cat any way to get it done too early???

this is one vet that does them as early as 2 months, depening on weight and condition..i have never heard a good reason to wait..some vets say they must be in heat at least once...all differnt philosphys and i wish Idvet or Julie B could jump in...i just don't know good reasons.
