Hi everyone,
Sabrina went to the oncologist today. I think my local vet gave me false hope - they indicated it was unlikely to spread, but the oncologist said that within 6-9 months it will most likely spread to her lungs and BOOM, that will be it. I find it very hard to believe this - she has NO symptoms and is not sick at all. It is very hard to believe she could be really sick in 6 months.
I am going to PM about Doc's situation and see how he's doing.

Darcy, "most likely" does not necessarily mean 100% likely, not for the subcutaneous form.
From what I researched for you and from what the literature suggests, this could go either way, and because it can go either way, it's nearly impossible to predict. But, without chemo, the outcome may not be as good.
Did you talk to your regular vet about the oncologist's comments, and can she consult VIN for you? (online professional portal for vets, would be worth it for at least another opinion, there are oncologists online on VIN).
I wouldn't be so quick to give up on this, ask your vet about this, have her consult with VIN if she can (or even another oncologist, she can do this via any vet university oncology dept, via phone consult).
