Kitty's eye Dialated

Post by suziecat »

Hi

This is my first post. I am really concerned about my Kitty (Suzie) she is an older cat (I dont know how old she had been abused when I took her iin so I dont know that much about her background) I have had her for about 5 years no health problems what so ever. But when I came home this afternoon I noticed that one of her eye's is dialted. Should I be concerned or will it go away. She dosent have any other semptoms. I am not sure what to do.

A check up at the vet is certainly warranted here. This could be brought on by many things....injury, illness (such as feline leukemia), etc. Please take your kitty to the vet...this is not normal

Please let us know what the vet says OK?

Hoping things turn out well for your kitty (and you)...

Bridget is correct, kitty needs a vet check immediately. Feline leukemia is one condition that can cause dilation of a pupil, but so can kidney disease, diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, other primary health concerns. Don't risk it, get her seen by your vet immediately, and if you haven't had a full blood profile done on her, now is the time to do so. Older kitties should have annual bloodwork done to monitor for hidden disease and illness.
