New kitten-old cat
I have a 15 yr old American Shorthair in very good health. My sister wants to get a kitten. I am afraid that my cat will run away or kill the kitten if we introduce it to the house hold. I need some advice and possible some links to information on this.

I recently adopted aan 8 week old female and have a 5 year old orange and white female.
I was very scared of the situation, and at first Honeybun (5yrs) was hissing and hiding from the new kitten, Chloe. Chloe was isolated in a room and we gave them free time to play together. I wiped then both down with Allerpet-C and then wiped each other with their respective cloths (I read this somewhere on the internet).
Eventually they are playing together, even eating each other's food, and sleeping together. Little Chloe even tackles Honeybun and they play wrestle each other, a site to behold.
This took about 2-3 weeks to accomplish so be patient and go slow is my advice.
