cats unable to tolerate it (vomiting and diarrhea)
I can vouch for that...not diarrhea but vomiting. Frodo didn't do well on Nutro either. Of course Frodo doesn't do well on any dry food.
I also agree with Traci about lite food and weight loss...do seek your vets advice on weight loss...it must be approached carefully and slowly so that you cat doesn't develop further problems.

I had used Nutro for HOneybun, but suddenly as she got older she began vomiting and I had several bags theat were unfresh and I returned them.
I switched Honeybun to Royal Canin Special blend and it has been great. She really does love it. Infact my new kitten Chloe loves it and starts to eat her dry food!! Of course I have her on kitten food, but plan on using the dry Royal Canin kitten as soon as she can crunch it better.
I really believe in the Royal Canin and Wellness brands of food, and use the Wellness canned chicken as a treat. Look on the internet and you can read their ingredients. Remember to switch over gradually mixing in the new good. Hope this helps.
Natural Balance dry food here (but only in small ammounts, we feed mostly wet food). Cats love it and are doing great on it, good ingredients, I like the company, it's reasonably priced and easily obtained.
We have used Nutro dry food before, it worked ok for use. We still use their wet food and it works well for out kitties. Won't use any of their dog food though, changed ingredients on us and lied about it, giving our dogs horrible itchies and bad dirrhea all over our carpet.
Would never ever ever feed Sci Die again. Tried it many years ago before I knew squat about nutrition and cats hated it, coats were awful, horrible stools. I threw the rest of the bag away and never looked back.

That may be your perception, Aimee, but do not post misleading information about specific brands of cat food on this board. It's obvious you were not pleased, but please keep the snide reference to the brand off this board. Science Diet is a premium quality diet and may not be for every cat, but it surpasses many lower quality diets, and is backed by continued research and comittment to the pet owner.

Mona, Chloe and Honeybun
Thank you, and I think I will try that Royal Canin Special blend.
