Hi! I am considering buying a pet fountain for my cats, but wanted to check opinions and experiences first. I'm leaning towards the Drinkwell fountain with the additional reservoir. I was wondering if anybody has used that brand. Is it noisy? Does it require a lot of maintenance? We do have another water source for our cats (Le Bistro), this one would just be for fun. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Pet Fountains
Re: Pet Fountains
We have had a drinkwell with the reservoir for probably a month now. My cats at first didn't know what to think but they all love it now. I think it must taste a little fresher or something. One of my cats actually drinks from the flow but most drink from the bowl.
As for maintenance, it has to be cleaned at least a few times a week. I've tried using filtered water, but you'll still need to clean it regularly. If you end up getting it, be sure to get a little brush that fits in the crevices... it can be quite annoying if you don't. I am currently using the fountain without a filter, but I have some on order. I'm hoping that will make the water even cleaner.
The flow can be controlled. At the lowest flow, I rarely hear anything except a tiny sound of water when it comes out. The motor itself is pretty quiet. I would probably compare it to a fish tank aerator motor.
Hope this helps!

Re: Pet Fountains
I have a drinwell fountain, have it put away at the time. I liked it well enough, it is slightly noisy but not too bad. I used it without the filter, because the filter seemed to give out little black pieces into the water...other than that I liked it, but I am now looking for a cordless fountain, does anyone know where I might find one?
