Could it be a hairball?

Post by anissa »

:( My 7 year old cat Patches has been swallowing by jutting her head out today, like something is stuck in her esophagus or at her GE junction. She could not drink more than few laps of milk (only given as a very infrequent treat, which she normally laps up quickly). She seems to get chocked on something, but can't get it up.

She ate some grass just prior to this and threw it up immediately, with some food.

I can't get her to eat hairball remedy and have had her on special hairball control food for years. I have NEVER seen her cough up a hairball in the 7 years I have had her.

Could she have a beezor or obstruction? Will force feeding mineral oil work?

Any help appreciated,
Anissa

Get your kitty to your vet immediately, you have no idea if she has a hidden obstruction, inflammation or otherwise, we can't diagnose here!

Not a minute later, please, get her seen IMMEDIATELY, and NO mineral oil!
