Is this normal??
Is this normal??
My kitten Yuna has a few signs of pregnancy. I plan on taking her to the vet to get checked but, I was curious about something. Her nipples are softer than normal and her stomach is fairly hard. I may be going crazy but, could that be pregnancy? Also, her vagina has been fairly wet but, her urination has not increased. Although she is licking it a lot. My question is could this be pregnancy or is she just going through heat, she is almost a year and has been going outside a lot. Not to mention she isn't meowing at my back door as much as she usually would. Oh and before I forget, she is very needy, she has been sleeping very close to me, which is unlike her. She usually sleeps with me but, not directly next to me like she has been recently.
Yuna and Shay are my world. Cats are a girls best friend.
Re: Is this normal??
anything would be helpful, I don't want to sound paranoid but, I would like to prepare myself just in case the fact that her vagina is wet isn't normal and it could be something serious.

our vet tech is usually on very late at night or very early in the day...unfortunately, there are not enough of us to man the boards 24/7...we come here when we can and help as much as we can, but the best thing to do it get to a vet, which you say you are going to do...when will this be? Wednesday morning I am hoping?
It could be any number of things...but if she is wet and "leaking" around her vaginal area, and she may be pregnant, then the leaking is NOT good...she could be miscarrying and having troubles....
however, she could be going through her first heat, and abdominal swelling and extended nipples is common with this...
It could also be pyometra, but that usually happens in older cats....but it sounds like that could be a possibility....
Without seeing her, we can only make guesses based on signs and symptoms...a vet will be able to check further and determine what is going on with her....
and for future reference, we strongly recommend INDOOR ONLY for our cats.....
And if all checks out fine, set an appointment to have her, and your other kitty, spayed as soon as possible....
Please let us know what the vet says...

I agree with Tambrey. Please keep her inside. You will not be breaking her spirit by keeping her indoors. In fact you will be protecting her from predators and illness from other cats. I do hope she was tested and vaccinated against diseases as well. Please keep her safe and keep her indoors. Like tambrey said if she checks out fine then please make the appt to get her spayed. Please don't contribute to the stay animals out there, please spay.
Almost 7 years in remission from Graves disease and no meds!

Don't wait around for people to answer your posts here, when you know something is unusual or wrong, call/get to your vet immediately.
Only your vet can determine if she may have a urinary tract infection, etc.
Why hasn't she been spayed by now??? Read both links Tambrey gave you, in their entirety, and keep her INDOORS ONLY! And, vet TODAY please.
