I think my cats sick

Post by raylon »

Yesterday my cat started acting weird. I don't know whats wrong with him. Usually when I talk to him and scratch him he meows all high and happy but for somereason he sounds agitated or sad. He doesn't seem to be hurt anywhere or show any discomfort. Strangely he has been attracted to water. I noticed that he has been playing in his water bowl and just now we found him sitting in the toilet bowl. Hard to believe but has anyone else had any similar experiences?

Why do you think he's sick? Is he not eating? Not drinking? Lethargic? Withdrawn? Hiding? Anorexic or vomiting? Any unusual litterbox habits? Of course, any of these signs would warrant a vet visit immediately!

Do NOT let your cat sit in a toilet, not only is this unsanitary, but it's dangerous, especially since cleaners and tank cleaners are toxic to cats! Keep the lid down!

If you think he is drinking more water than usual from his water dish, then yes, get him seen by a vet pronto!

Please take your cat to the vet asap. When cats behave strangely it is nearly always because something is wrong and they are trying to tell us. Has your male cat been licking his private parts or trying to pee in places other than the litter box? I ask this because when my male cat had a UTI he started peeing in his water bowl and licking his penis area, he was also behaving strangely and was extremely agitated due to the pain. Please keep an eye on him and take him to the vet tomorrow. If he does have a UTI it can lead to a blockage and can be fatal.

If he's crying he could be in pain, definitely take him to the vet asap and keep us posted. From what you've described, there is something wrong!

Please let us know what the vet says today. Thank you for being responsible and taking him into the vet. It is the only way to know what is wrong.
