Midnight does want to play, Alley isn't sure. Vet says to wear out Midnight so she has less exuberance. Am trying to let them figure it out. It's tough being a cat mother.

You don't want her to get overexherted, and not exhausted, but she should have some exercise, playtime, activity during the day and evening...this usually accounts for about 10-15 minutes each time. Jumping, trotting, chasing, reaching, stretching are good exercise for cats. Tossing toys with her can achieve this, use a cat-dancer toy (but put it away from kitties when not in use), etc. The same applies for Alley, he should be getting play and exercise too. It's more fun, and when made into a routine, to get them to play with their toys etc so they can share the same space without feeling threatened by each other. When they associate playtime with a good experience, they'll look forward to it. Try to make this a routine twice a day for them. Stay with them, speak in a calm voice with them, don't get frustrated (they will sense your stress/frustration and may react to it) and be consistent with the routine.
