Not so far, maybe she'll be even more outgoing today.

Her incision is fine. We played for about 2 hours today, and she was way more outgoing. She stretched and reached enough for me to see that her incision is okay. She let me pet her head (whilst she was eating tuna), and she ate + drank in front of us. A lot of progress!

I'm glad for you. :D Hopefully things will only get better from here.

On a side note though, I'm not sure if feeding her a lot of tuna in a short period of time is a good idea? Maybe switch to canned kitty food or something else for luring her out for a while? I'm not really sure on fish, but I always hear stuff about a lot at a time being a bad idea. :P

I've only fed her tuna twice, about a tablespoon each time. I think it's okay. Thanks for the heads up though.

Tuna and other fish fed exclusively is a no-no. Get her started on her kitten food right away. Canned Iams Kitten or dry Iams Kitten. Also watch her stools and make sure they are normal.

Glad to hear she's coming out of her shell!

Right, I'm not feeding tuna exclusively, not sure where that came from. It's a treat. She eats the Purina kitten chow she was eating at the shelter for now. I may switch brands later, but I wanted to give her what she's used to.

She finally let me pet her today, so that's great. My new goals are to try to get her used/accomodated to being picked up/held, and to get used to people walking around. She generally hides when anyone comes in/leaves/is walking around the room.

I have a vet appt scheduled for next Tuesday, I think I'll be able to get her into the carrier without damaging her for life :)

Anyone have recommendations on kitten food? I know a lot of the big brands use lots of fillers that aren't beneficial to the cat, and of course, I want to avoid those brands that had their food recalled if possible. My thought was to gradually mix in the new food with her old food so that when the old stuff runs out, she's fine with the new stuff.

personally I have always preferred to give kittens the Eukanuba...it is either a pink or lavender bag...I cannot remember...but they have always taken well to that brand with no problems
