Hi Traci - Karma is doing well.
I'm watching her water intake and she seems to be drinking fine now. I still can't believe she has taken to wet food. But I'm grateful for that.
I plan to keep her on the Hills prescription as advised. do you think it matters what flavor? Her original vet gave us the Hills c/d, with chicken. But at the cat hospital (this last time...) she gave me just plain flavor, and Karma likes the chicken better. Does this matter?
She is almost back to normal now, she is playing and everything! She still has a bit of trouble jumping onto the couch, but I guess her legs are out of shape since its been awhile. I'm watching her for any of those signs you mentioned. and giving her the liquid antiobotic. If I can I will try to give her the other antibiotic as well. I still have all the meds, from our original vets visits, including pain, muscle relaxer, etc... in case something comes up.
take care,
B.
sick kitty- :(
First, don't give any of the medications the first vet gave you until or unless the second vet directed you to do so, and do not self-dose Karma with them unless under specific direction under the second vet.
Hill's Prescription C/D and Prescription X/D are slowly being phased out and will be replaced with one product, the Prescription C/D-Multicare. So make sure the cans and bags you have state they are the C/D-Multicare. It doesn't matter what flavor, all the flavors are formulated for FLUTD conditions, and as long as she's eating it, that's important! You could of course, get a few cans of each flavor, to see which she prefers, but don't change the flavors too frequently, because you don't want her getting finicky.
