Prayers continue for Sam, hoping that his liver damage is not permanent and he makes a complete recovery! BTW, I put my kitties' and doggy's pictures on this topic - I think it's only fair that you get a picture of "Sam the Wonder Cat" on here!

Hi! I'm back from my vet's. My kitties were so well behaved, I was sooo proud of my babies. Everyone had blood tests done. My vet has an extensive lab, but she has sent it to a nearby licensed lab for testing so no question can ever come up (like she just said she did the tests and "pocketed" the money). She would never do that but some may not have her ethics! So I have to wait till Monday afternoon to get the results (**pace the floor**). But she said that she has had a large number of people bringing in their kitties for testing, and none has had any exposure to any toxin yet.
I obviously don't love pet food manufacturers. But I thought it was very decent of Hills to offer to pay for testing. The others have done nothing, so I now have more respect for them. Otherwise, we would have been in a very real quandary about where to get the money to pay for the tests.
I spent the rest of the afternoon, cleaning out the pantry, and removing all products containing wheat gluten. Mostly they were Purina products (cat and dog food). I know there has been no recall of their products. But considering that they started production of their pet food (many containing wheat gluten) in their new plant in China - after the poisoned food recall had started, makes me distrust them. I'm going to become a real label reader. I'll bet there will be a bunch of us blocking grocery store aisles!
