Puzzling cat question??
The lump is not there, he tends to have pain over his upper spinal column,
if he was septic, he would be gone by now. Never has he had a temp. The other cat I lost died awhile back, not from the same litter. His problems laid in his small intestine and never found out what happened to him. He died on his own, at 11yrs. never sick a day in his life. Today my cat is about the same, but no worse, I made an appt. for Sat. afternoon with a cat vet only. Will let you know. I don't know if I mentioned this but a child proof gate, a tall one might have fallen on him, and it would be in the area where he is hurting. My daughter didn't lock it when she picked up my granddaughter and it could have fallen on him. This has been going on for 2 wks.

Re: Puzzling cat question??
I'm so glad you are seeking a second opinion. I hope this new cat only vet will be able to get a handle on his condition. I've had a cat with a sprained leg that took a few weeks to recover from. I hope your kitty will have something just as easy to recover from. Please do let us know how the visit goes....all fingers and paws crossed here!
Kitty kisses,
Debbie

went to cat vet, she was a joke. Going Wed. 7:30 a.m. to a large clinic and hopefully we can find out. I will have them repeat his blood work, if his wbc is lower and hes still in as much pain, I will unfortunately have to put him down. Will be in touch

I'm so sorry the cat vet didn't pan out....what did she say? I'm also sorry you're considering putting him down, but do hope that the clinic will offer a better diagnosis.went to cat vet, she was a joke. I am sorry that the other vet was a well lets just say not good. I do hope you give this other vet a chance. remember that the signs the kitty is showing seem to be leading to bone marrow problems so please try to figure out what is going on.
What did the other vet say that set you off.?

Re: Puzzling cat question??
This hospital has a staff of 12 vets, and I have all his paperwork, the woman vet, was how do I say, I felt like I knew more then her. I will definitely give this Dr. a chance, he has a good name and has been in the business for a long time. My cat is just not getting better and I can't put him through invasive testing, I won't do it for him. I know there is something serious but the decision to euthanize is a very hard one, believe me, I get very attached, I give my whole heart. My appt. is at 7:30 a.m. but lets hope we find out something. I am not giving up, but maybe a new perspective on this situation will help. My poor cat is just hurting too much, not fair, not quality of life. I will keep you informed.

Re: Puzzling cat question??
Went to new vet, he feels like I have all along that the cat suffered a trauma to his spinal column. When I brought him there he was acting the best I have seen him in awhile, which was great, no complaints here. I showed him the movie when he was bad and he checked him over and agreed that the problem was in his spine. Redid an x-ray bone structure is fine no separations. He wasn't concerned about the blood work, said stress could bring that on. The cat "TGO" gained the 1/2 lb. he lost, so another positive. He put him on steroids, and feels if he responds well to this then with rest and medication he should be fine, if not a referral to a neurologist for an mri , lots of money so lets keep our fingers cross and I will keep you informed. Thank you for caring to all of you.
