Hi all,
Mollie has suddenly started sneezing three or four times in row, about 4 times a day.
This only seems to happen after she has washed, or when she has been attempting to eat the Christmas tree (artificial)!
She is a nearl 3, has always been an indoor cat and is up to date with her booster injections and worming.
She doesn't seem to sneeze when she is at rest, and she has no other obvious symptoms. Her nose doesn't seem to bother her at all.
We were just a bit worried about her, especially now it's Christmas and the vets are closed for a few days. Should we be worried?
Thanks
Jo

How long has it been going on? If over 3 days, you should have her seen.
It could be a foreign body trapped in her nasal canal, or an allergic reaction to something in the environment. How is the artifical tree decorated? Does it contain flocking, ornaments with dust, glitter, etc? Best to keep her away from the tree and other decorations anyway. Do you have christmas plants? Keep these out of her reach.
If you can't get her in, watch her carefully....if any further symptoms develop, consider at least getting her seen by an ER vet. Watch for blood caused by broken capillaries, discharge from either nose or eyes, anorexia, lethargy, etc, if these develop, to a vet immediately. If no other symptoms develop but symptoms persist, get her seen first thing Tuesday after Christmas. Keep dust, fumes, christmas scents, etc and other things to the barest minimum until then.

Re: Mollie is sneezing all of a sudden!
Thanks for the reply.
We have been watching her closely, and the sneezing appears to have subsided. I wondered whether she could be shedding her fur, causing more to build up in the carpets etc. We have been vaccuuming more frequently since the sneezing started and I guess that is helping.
We do our best to keep her away from all the Christmas decorations, and spray her when she starts to chew on them. She doesn't get the message though and always goes back for more!
