Feeding practices

Post by elanning »

Im just woundering what is better for keeping your cat at a healthy weight. As it is i have dry food constantly in the kittens bowl, the other method of course would be to feed them at designated times of the day. Is either method better or worse?

I have many cats and always keep dry kibble in the dishes so they can eat when they want to...
I notice that if I let the bowls run empty, then they gorge themselves as if they have not eaten in days and end up throwing up all over

So by keeping dry food available at all times, each can eat when he or she is hungry, just like us humans do

It depends on the cat, age, metabolism, activity level and to some degree, individual physiology.

The key is to ensure they are getting a high quality food and regular exercise/activity/playtime.
