Owlie's up for her second surgery today

Glad the surgery went well...bummer she has to stay for an additional timeframe though....but look at the uoside of things...hopefully she will be fully recovered from the worst of the surgery before she comes home...

Have you not visited her yet? If not, how come? I'm certain she would appreciate seeing you and having you visit her every chance you get.

the last day i got to see her was on tuesday, the day we left to come home. though i would love to visit her again, the hospital is 8 hours away from me and they are only open during the week, which means i would need to take off of work (as would my mom or boyfriend, it's not a trip i would like to make by myself). i already took off monday and tuesday of last week to take her down there, plus we are going to be short staffed this week. since we are such a distance away, the vet offered to send us pictures (to keep us visually posted) until we can pick her up next sunday or monday.

I'm looking forward to the pics. Sorry the vet is so far away, but it's so nice of her to take the time to send you some pics. I hope she is doing well and recovering nicely!

it was so cute, my boyfriends little girl was hugging and kissing the screen when she saw the pictures of owlie. we all can't wait till she comes home. i've bought her her own bed and lots of cat toys, i think i'll tie a bow around it all and bring it with me when we pick her up. i think she deserves a little spoiling.

Wow, is she EVER tiny! And you said she's actually put on weight since you brought her home?? That poor little thing, all she's had to go through... bless your heart for doing all you can to get her well!

I agree, she looks underweight. Although I'm glad that she finally recieved the care and treatment she needed.

yes, she is very tiny. she put on some weight when we were trying to nurse her back to health, but not much. we were feeding her two cans of moist food a day, but then cut it down to one because i was worried about overfeeding (my boyfriend's full size cat eats two a day and she is twice the size of owlie, maybe this was a bad decision on my part). i also wonder if her extreme infection was preventing her from gaining very much weight. they called today from the hospital and said she's gained a pound since being there. i'm going to ask them about what and how much i should be feeding her.

her frame is also very small. i am estimating that she is probably close to being one year old. at what age is a cat full grown?

her tail also has a bit of a choppy appearance, it looks as though someone cut hair off of it. this is how it has looked for the 6 months that we have had her. they also asked me about it at the hospital. i guess this is just how her hair grows.

i'll let you know how it goes when we go pick her up on Sunday.
