According to vet last week.... She had surgery to have it removed 2 years ago... Also the vet insisted on her taking the thyriod medication even after the surgery, which seemed weird but I have been doing it.

While hyperthyroid tissue reoccurance is uncommon after surgical removal, it can reoccur, so talk to your vet about your options. First and foremost, is ruling out thyroid carcinoma (this rule out would be common approach if a reoccurance of hyperthyroid tissue reoccurs).....if this needs to be removed again, talk to your vet about the surgery plus radioiodine treatment.
