Thank you
Re: fleas and humans
hi,
i will look into this & ask them what the vet said, i am not sure what to make of all this as my cat wore a flea collar for all of his 14 years so i'm not sure what this is all about? but i will definitely follow-up on it as the cat's owner is pretty lazy and i have tried to be the responsible cat-advocate in the house! thanks for the info.

These over-the-counter products are available because the EPA regulates them, not the FDA. If the product claims it is a drug, or to be given orally which would be considered a drug, then the FDA would regulate it, and they would therefore not be allowed on the market, but the EPA is responsible for most pesticides, and the over-the-counter products have been minimally tested, outdated, and the EPA is too lax on what it determines safe in animals. This has been an on-going problem with the EPA for years. The important thing is that pet owners are educated, and well aware of the dangers and fatalities that occur to innocent pets when these harmful products are used. Use ONLY Advantage or Frontline for CATS, and only from your vet, since he is the only one who can garantee the safety of the product when it is properly applied. NEVER use dog products on cats, either!
Please read the links provided in this thread very carefully, and educate another, the more educated pet owners, the less needless deaths that will occur from these horrible products. See also, our disclaimer about these and other products, etc.
