Traci, took her back in today for her first checkup. They gave her an enema and now she is going on her own, whew! Eating, drinking and doing just fine - now it's time for her to build her confidence, it's gonna take a while.

She seems to be on the road to recovery. Thanks for everything. I have my fingers crosses and I'm hoping for the best for her.

Regards, Tony

I'm sure she will be just fine! She sounds like a survivor  Give her a nose rub from me :)

I suspect she hasn't eaten enough to produce a stool normally, or that there was a small amount of fecal material in her colon at the time of surgery, hence the constipation.

You can continue using the Laxatone (or Petromalt) once a day for a few days, until her eating habits and bowel function return to normal. Do followup with your vet if she has another incident.
