OK, I APPRECIATE ALL THE ADVICE, BUT "I SEE NO MORE FLEAS"
I GO THROUGH HER FURR INCH BY INCH AND HONESTLY I DONT SEE ANY.
SHE DID NOT HAVE AN EXTREME CASE TO BEGIN WITH.
I CANNOT REDOSE HER UNTIL THE 17TH AND HER KITTENS WILL BE NURSING, BUT EVEN THO THE "VET SAID IT WAS OK" IM NOT SURE IF IT WOULD BE GOOD FOR THE KITTENS.
HALF A TUBE WORKED.
I PANIC BECAUSE I DIDNT WANT IT TO GET REAL BAD..
HE SAID I CANNOT USE ANY FLEA SPRAYS OR BOMBS UNTIL HER KITTENS ARE AT LEAST 6 WEEKS..AND TO REMOVE THEM FROM THE HOME WHEN I DO IT
I HAVE 2 FLEA COLLORS IN MY VACUME BAG AND VEACUME 2CE A DAY.
THERE IS LITTLE YOU CAN DO WHEN THEY ARE PREGNANT.
AND I STILL DONT KNOW IF FRONTLINE WOULD BE GOOD FOR KITTENS TO NURSE ON.
IT GIVES A STOMACH UPSET AND SALIVATION
BUT TO A NEWBORN?

Please read carefully.....no one is suggesting you treat your pregnant cat with anything once the kittens are born. However, if she is infested with fleas at the time her kittens are born, you will need to get her to your vet for proper and SAFE flea control...until then, use only a flea comb.

If she has fleas at the time of delivery of her kittens, the kittens will be at high risk for flea infestation and fatal flea anemia. This is NOT something to mess around with. You MUST get the flea problem under control BEFORE the kittens are born.

See Cleo's link at the top of the forum for more information on fleas, how to prevent and control them.

It doesn't matter if it appears that there are presently no fleas on your cats. What matters is that fleas have larvae and lay eggs, and those eggs may be residing in your rugs, carpets, furniture, cracks and crevices. So, it's important to treat the environment. Treating means vaccuming, cleaning areas on a daily basis to get a handle on the fleas in the home and getting them eradicated.

Do not apply any more Frontline, and you won't need to apply it once her kittens are born. Of course the kittens would be at risk for ingesting it, no one suggested otherwise. My point is, IF she has more evidence of fleas, then you need to talk to your vet and ask what to do next for her because you've already given her a partial dose of Frontline, and your vet can suggest something safer if she needs it once she delivers her kittens.

HE ONLY RECOMENDED FRONTLINE...NOTHONG ELSE.
AND HE SAID DOSE HER AGAIN IN 30 DAYS
(GIVING ME 2 PACKS OF 3 APPLICATIONS)
(I HAVE 2 CATS)
HE KNEW HER DUE DATE WAS IN SEPT....IM GOING TO GET A NEW VET.
HE ALSO SAID WAS NOT TO USE ANY SPRAYS OR ANYTHIGN IN THE HOUSE SO THE FLEA COLLORS IN THE VACUME IS AS CLOSE AS I CAN GET..BESIDES EVERYTHING ELSE.
FRONTLINE PLUS IS SUPOSED TO KILL FLEAS, LARVA AND EGGS.

I wouldn't risk it. Does she actually still HAVE fleas? Have you checked? To put Frontline on her neck, even if it's only this small tube, can still put the babies at serious risk of touching and ingesting it, as it takes some time to get completely absorbed by the skin. And even when it's absorbed, the fur remains moist for at least a day or so. I wouldn't do it.

Congratulations though! :D Did you watch the birth? Isn't it awsome? Did everything go alright?

Do NOT apply the Frontline to her unless you see obvious evidence of fleas. Use a flea comb, comb through her fur, tap the comb on a white paper towel, and place drops of water on the towel...if you see red spots on the towel, then she could in fact, have fleas. You will also need to observe and check the kittens for any evidence of fleas, if there are any, then you need to use only a flea comb on them.

For newborns with fleas...using a flea comb, dip the comb in a bowl of warm water with one or two drops of blue Dawn dishwash soap, comb through fur, rinse comb, repeat dipping comb in the bowl and combing the fur until all evidence of fleas are gone, this may require once or twice daily combings, combined with proper environmental cleaning/vaccuming. Make sure the kittens' fur is completely dry because you can't risk hypothermia.

YES I WATCHED THE BIRTH AND I HAD TO CALL IN WORK TOO!
SHE HAD HER FIRST AT 11:30 PM AND HER LAST AT 1:30.... BUT WE THOUGHT SHE STILL HAD ONE SO WE RUSHED HER TO THE VET AND AFTER180.OO,, THERE WAS NO MORE KITTENS INSIDE..
I TRULY THOUGHT THE FLEAS WERE GONE. BUT YES I DO SEE SOME ON THE KITTENS.. EACH ONE HAS LIKE 2 OR 3 ON THEM.. I CATCH THEM WHEN I CAN.
THE EMERGENCY VET SAID THAT THEY WOULD BE FINE AND THAT IT WAS SAFE :?: :?:
USING A COMB AND DISHSOAP ON THE KITTENS SOUNDS GOOD..BUT SHE WILL NOT LET ME DO THAT THERES NO WAY! I WOULD END UP WITH A SOAPY CAT RUNNING AROUND THE HOUSE

In that case only use the comb to get rid of the fleas. Use it also on the kittens. And check frequently if there are more fleas. Kittens can get anaemic quickly, so you want to make sure they don't have fleas. Also, wash their bedding often and vacuum daily around the house.

No, kittens cannot get the type of cold we have, but they can easily get respiratory infections which show by sneezing, watery eyes and nose, not eating, lethargy, and fever. At the first sign of any of these call your vet, as respiratory infections can be quite dangerous to a kitten. Their immune system simply cannot cope yet with any bacteria and they can die in a matter of days.

Good luck! Any pictures?
