I'm very very sorry! Maybe you can feel a little comfort knowing that at least he found his way home and died knowing that you love him.

Echo, I came back this morning to find out more about poor Nose. I found out that his little life had come to an end.

I know what you're going through. I've lost several cats and one kitten myself, and it's a terrible feeling.

You had the strength to give of yourself and try to help your kitty survive. A lot of people won't put themselves on the line to that extent. You did do everything in your power to save him. It sounds like you really tried and tried.

I hope you'll let people here know what the autopsy results were when you can.

Echo...I am sorry for your loss...I hope the autopsy shows what caused his death and can help you prevent others, if it is something contageous...
or since he was gone outside, he could have eaten something...a poison or bad food digging in dumpsters...
please rest assured that Nose knows you loved him and did all you could for him...

Dear Echo,

There is no doubt about it. Your poor little kitten had distemper. I lost six kittens this way a month ago and am still staggering under the loss. But wasn't he vaccinated?

No Nan he wasn't. He was only 1 1/2 months old when he disappeared. He was gone for a month when we finally got him back.

Fortunetely our Vet says it isn't Distemper..just some kind of nasty viral infection that has been plaguing all the rest of our kittens now for about 5 days...feels like much longer. They're all on more medications then i can name at the moment, 2 have to be given every 4 hours. Our little girl Sprite isn't doing so well, she was the closest to Nose. I'm hoping the seperation isn't making her worse. Everybody is still under quarentine here, climbing the walls, but here's hoping this is almost over!

I'm so so sorry about you kittens Nan, you must still be devastated *hug* I can't even imagine, and i don't want to have to.
