I think that dogs sometimes revert to a pack mentality.

When my sister and brother in law moved into their home, they were combining a household that included his middle age-elderly dog, his two cats, and my sister's four cats. My brother in law's dog had been with cats all her life and was completely unaggressive toward them.

Their idiot friend thought they didn't have enough chaos on moving day, and brought his dog, too. The dogs got together and played all day, and then chased Byron's cat down and killed it!

My sister and brother in law kept this dog until she died, and she was never again aggressive toward any other animal or human. It was just those two dogs getting together and doing what came naturally...

Good news ... but I'm crying my eyes out

I receive an email back from http://www.hscipets.org/sitemenu.htm and they will take the kittens. I have really fallen for these guys and hate to see them go but I know they will at least have a chance of being adopted and be safe. So why am I so sad and bawling like a baby?

Thank you for all your help and support. Without your advice I doubt the kittens and I would come this far.

Gatos...that is great news!! I foster abandoned kittens so I know the heartbreak of having to see them go. but I always remember that they will find good homes and I did a wonderful service by taking them in, otherwise they might not have made it at all. Good job!

When I took the kittens in, they exclaimed over how pretty and unusual some of them were and they had a woman who has been waiting for a pointed kitten to come in. So, Purrcy (yes, I shouldn't have named them I know) had an instant home and they were sure they would be able to place the other 5 as well. I cried for several hours, but I feel pretty good about it now.

Thank you again for the information and support. :)
