That's why I'm confused Traci (often a state of mind for me you know LOL) You say giving mineral oil is not good, but advocate laxatone...laxatone has mineral oil in it..

Tina, laxatone has a very minute amount of mineral oil, other inert ingredients combined are what makes it effective.
If one were to give a cat pure, unadulterated, mineral oil, say extrapolate that from human use, you'd have a big mess on your hands (potential diarrhea for one). And it doesn't eliminate from the body as laxatone does.
Again, I recommend it, I see results, I use it for my own cats, I have used it for years for patients, nothing else matches the effectiveness and quality of the product for its intended purpose. That's not to say it should be used every day, because it shouldn't. As with any approach, in careful moderation.
