Re: help
I wrote the previous post but wasn't logged in. I wanted to edit the last sentence to say I was lucky she lived through that infection.
Re: help
Mooonkitty, even 1 of those symptoms requires an immediate veterinary visit. Since you are unfamiliar with cat health, it is imperative of you to get your kitty to the nearest vet or emergency vet for an exam immediately.
Since you seem to have time on the computer, show this entire post to your mother, chances are she is completely aware of the signs your kitty is showing, and if she's ever had a urinary tract infection herself, she knows how painful it is and that it needs to be treated. Time could be of the essance here so get to a vet NOW.
Most urinary tract infections only require a course of antibiotics, but if there are crystals forming in the urethra, a new diet will need to be prescribed by your vet to prevent new crystals and to help dissolve any crystals detected. A urinalysis needs to be done to determine if there are crystals or the source of blood/infection.
You CANNOT wait on this, the longer you wait, the higher risk you are placing on your kitty's health, do you really want to risk that?

Moonkitty....UTI are serious and VERY painful....imagine trying to pee a rock...even a drop of urine when you have a UTI is sooooo very painful....not to mention the stomach cramps and fever and other things that can set in as infection gets worse...
PLEASE...PLEASE....PLEASE....get your kitty to a vet ASAP and diagnosed and on proper medication and diet to get and keep your kitty healthy...
I am sure she is in pain and her health is failing fast...knowing UTIs from a human point of view...animals have feelings and pain just as we do...believe me...if she has blood in her urine and any signs of pain...she is in terrible pain!!!
PLEASE DO NOT WAIT...
