my 9 wk old male kitten started sneezing blood when I first gave him dry kitten chow. I took him to the vet that same day and he told me the kitten sneezed to hard and might have the start of a cold. He gave me ammoxocylin for him. He stopped for two days and then started again. Stopped and then last evening I fed him dry kitten chow again. Went out a 1/2 hour later (he is in a large crate in my garage) and there was blood splattered everywhere in his crate and outside of his crate. I just don't know what to do. I am stopping the dry food for now. I have a 14 yr old male cat and I don't want him getting sick. I have tried keeping them separate.
If anyone knows anything about this, please help

Re: kitten is sneezing blood
I'm not a vet but sneezing blood does not sound cold-related to me. Get your kitten to another vet as soon as possible.

Re: kitten is sneezing blood
My Roo, who is almost a year old, did that through a few bouts of antibiotics...his issues started when baby fangs did not fall out, and he had 3 sets of double and 1 set of triple fangs in his mouth...we managed to get the baby fangs to come out on their own through playing with tuggy toys, but his triple fang was still a double fang...when he was neutered, the vet x-rayed and removed one of the fangs, but the roots were way into his sinus cavity, which still causes him constant sinus problems...
Not long after the fang was removed, is when he started to sneeze so hard as to bleed and splatter i everywhere...along with a big booger that would finally shoot out of his little nose...I have no idea how anything that big could come from that nose!!...anyways, the removed tooth, over a few weeks, had caused an infection in his sinus...sort of like an abcess that was festering inside until it finally showed outward symptoms...
He still sneezes 20-30 times in a row, to this day, but no longer sneezes blood...but I know it is very scary and worrisome to see...however, he will still sneeze so hard once in a while as to either bite his tongue or just irritate his nose to the extent he bleeds a bit...
I hope you can find a vet to get him taken care of soon...I am sure he is miserable with possibly a bad sinus infection, and that is painful, I know from my own experiences with them...
Also, maybe there is something in that particular food that he is allergic to, that sets it all off...I have our kittens on Eukenuba kitten food...a pink and lavender bag, it costs a bit more, but is better for them, has less filler stuff, so less poops and they get more nutritions that they need from it...

One of our kitties, Bebe, began sneezing blood when she was about 4-5 months old, turns out she had a massive Chlymidia URI, and she was very ill. After a month of antibiotics (Amoxicillan and then clavamox) she got over it completely. HTH
