Traci, Patches had her surgery.

She is at the vets tonight. He said he removed the whole tumor, and it doesn't appear to have gotten to her lymph node. She was resting comfortably at 5:00 p.m. this afternoon. They originally said she could come home today, but with her age and all, and a late afternoon surgery, he felt better keeping her overnight. Poor James (my husband) stayed in Shawnee (about 45 miles from Oklahoma City where we live now) all day waiting to go and pick her up. But he will go get her in the A.M...I have to work..ggrrr..anyway...thanks for all of your support, and I will let you know how she is doing after she gets home.

Thank you so much for the update......I agree, she could probably use the rest. I'm glad to hear it didn't reach the lymph node.....did your vet send it off for pathology? Let us know when you get her home and when you expect the pathology results back.

I'm not sure if he sent it off for pathology.. I will have James ask when he picks her up. I never thought about that...thanks..

Oh gosh, please do ask (or hubby)....the pathology is important to identify the tumor, and to determine whether or not treatment or supportive meds may be indicated in the near future. It will also determine the need for followup exams, x-rays, etc.
