not using litterbox

Post by nurse2003 »

Hi, I have a 2yr old cat. About a month and half ago we moved into a house from an apt and he seemed to adjust beautifully really calmed down (quite the bitting and attacking) and seemed to love it. about 3 weeks ago he got sick and had a hairball obstruction but after a visit to the vet some fluids and a shot he bounced right back, at the time he had a bm in the kitchen along with tons of vomitting. Now the last week or two we've been waking up in the morning to find stool around the house, but he still does use his litterbox too, what should we do? my fiance is very angered by this and it only gives him another reason to want to get rid of him please help

your cat seems to of been through alot in a realtive short time. you might want to try confining to the largest room in the house that has a door and keep a very clean litter box there (along with food/water) to see if it's just a behavior issue.

allow your cat out when your around but confine at nights or when you leave for a while. if the out of litter box "presents" are still occurring then it might be something else.

how much does your cat weigh?

last note, stress wont help...try to explain to others in the house you either need their help or to stay out of the way ;).
