Hi, I've been signed up to this site for a while but a rarely post, just have a question for you folks.
My vet is awesome. They take time to explain things to me and they take great care of my cat, Monster! We just picked him up this a.m. from his neuter and declawing (wife insisted we get it done). The vet "nurse" told us that they have been staying away from his kennel (he was there for 2 days) because everytime someone gets close Monster hisses at them and they didn't want to stress him any more. She was amazed how affectionate he was with us when we picked him up. Is this normal, my cat seems to hate the vet? I can't really blame him, he either gets a needle or now a surgery when he goes there. He sure was happy to get home though!
Vet Question
Re: Vet Question
Some cats aren't at all happy to be at the clinic, but in your case, I'd say it was due to the declaw, since it is a painful procedure. Even the slightest handling can cause nerve roots to agrivate kitty to hissing or growling.
Please watch his incisions carefully during the healing process, notify your vet promptly should anything unusual occur (infection), no matter how slight.
