Broken "meow box"?

Hi everyone-

I have a 2 year old healthy cat, not sick or anything. She has always had a very very soft meow, it is barely audible and it is actually more like a squeak than a meow. Is it possible that she is unable to meow correctly or is just because she is such a small cat (I think she may have been the runt, she is about half the size of her brother from the same litter). Other than this, she is completely absolutely healthy and playful etc etc. Is this something to be concerned with?

I have a cat that's almost 11 years old and has always had a soft crackled meow. She's perfectly healthy, always has been. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

But then again, I may be wrong . . . that's just my opinion from my own personal experience.

My cat is 12 and the only time he ever actually meows is on his way to the vet, the rest of the time it's this whispery sqwuak that you can barely hear. If she's healthy otherwise I wouldn't worry about it, and after aquiring one that doesn't have a broken meower I'm glad my other one is so quiet.

I agree with you there . . . we have an indoor cat too . . . she's a SERIOUS TALKER! talks to us all the time, constantly . . . she's not shy at all!
