Hair Loss on Ears

My white male adult cat has just started to loose hair on the tops of his ears. His ears appear reddis and feel warm to the touch. Should I be worried?

i wouldn'tbe worried but i would be concerned because the firts thing you think of is Otodectes. mites or ear mites which tend to sit around the peripheral portions of the ears...easy to diagnose and easy to treat but has to be diagnosed before you treat....does that make sense???
