Problem with Eyes

Post by dklass »

About 2 months ago my indoor outdoor cat's eye was swollen and had pus or something coming from it. I took him to the vet and he was given shots, ointment, and an antibiotic. I was told to keep him in for a few days because maybe his eye was scratched by another cat. Well, I figured it was as good a time as any to just make him an indoor cat only. Since then his eye has gotten better and then it has come back. Now it's his other eye. I don't know what to do for the poor thing. Any ideas?

Please have your kitty seen by your vet again. You don't mention what your vet said was wrong with the eye. Could be he was just treating it figuring it was a one time incident. It could be any number of things such as tear duct malfunction, allergies, herpes, just to name a few. Your vet should perform some diagnostics, possibly blood work as a starter. I hope it is something easy to cure!
Kitty kisses,
Debbie
