Found the guilty pee-er and took to vet

Post by CatNap »

I found out that Peanut is the one peeing in the house. I caught her red handed spraying up against my kitchen wall 2 nights ago! I took her yesterday to the vet and he said he's almost positive its behavioral. He did a urinalysis anyway but I have to wait a few days to get the results. After spending $170.00 I'm not going to be too thrilled if it truly is behavioral. He says that there really isn't much you can do once it starts. Last resort is putting her on an anti-anxiety drug. He said that he remembers specifically back in school someone showing him a chart that showed the more cats in one house, the more "sprayers" they will have. I have 5 and he said that right around the 4 to 5 mark is when the number significantly increases to have them spray. I just don't understand what has made her start this in the last 2 months. Nothing new has happened. She hates our newest cat, but she came well over 7 months ago! He suggested that I try to find a new home for one of them, I just don't think I can do that, I feel responsible for them myself.
