change in food = loose stool; what do i do?

ok... i am a new cat owner, and a little lost. i wanted to get my cat on Wellness food, because i have read that it was better for them. but i think i made the change too abruptly, and now a few days after, he is having very soft, loose, bowel movements. what should i do? should i go back to his old food (science diet) and then make the change more gradually? or should i just let it straighten itself out on its own? please help!

What I would do is mix the two cat foods. Cats have a very sensitive digestive system and it doesn't react well to change. Start out with the old cat food and gradually mix in the new cat food until you've completely changed over.
