Me and my wife have two house kitties and one managed to sneak out. He is a one year old gray unspaded male cat. We live in a small subdivision with a big green belt behind the house. I'm asking for help in finding new ways to lure him back home. We often leave the garage cracked and have set up a cat trap with food in it. We believe he has been around the house several times. Anything that you guys/gals can add or suggest would be greatly appreciated. I realize it is mating season, but I'm unsure how long that could last. WE spend endless hours a week looking for him. Please, someone help?
Make sure you call your local shelter on a daily basis! This is really important. Also call your police department or animal control.
Continue putting fresh food in the trap daily. Also, put some cat nip in there. If there are certain foods your cat loves, throw that in. The cat nip has proven effective in trapping my friends cat that was missing.
Our Mollie is an indoor cat, and our worst fear is that she will escape one day.
Good luck on finding your kitty. How long has he been missing? I can't think of any other ways of bringing him back that haven't already been mentioned. Was he microchipped, and did he have a collar?
