Help, our Burmese has started peeing in the kitchen sink!!

Post by James »

We have 2 beautiful 4 year old Burmese cats that spend 99% of their day in the house. A few weeks ago a large Burmese moved in next door and occasionally ventures into our garden, which really unsettles our cats. One of them has recently started peeing in the sink instead of using his liiterbox, which he has never done before. In addition when we let him outside he climbs up on to our roof, where he gets stuck, which he had never done before either. Can anybody help us? We change the litter very regularly. Thanks.

It could be stress that is causing him to do so (as you mentioned the outside cat).....however, you must know that stress can also induce urinary tract infections and/or blockages, so getting him to your vet IMMEDIATELY for a complete check-up and urinalysis is very important to get that ruled out.

Don't wait on this, even if your vet surmises stress, you want peace of mind that it is not an infection or blockage.

In addition, please acclimate your cats strictly indoors.
