Can kitten go outdoors again?

My kitten was a stray, so she lived outside all the time until we adopted her before the winter. We kept her indoors all winter, but recently, on a warm sunny day I wanted to take her outside (on a leash) but she got so scared and ran back inside. Is there any way I can get her used to being outside again (on a leash)?

There is probably a way you could get her use to it and then even really want to go outside, but you really would be happier and she would be safer to not introduce this to her. If she gets to really like it she could run outside on you without the lease and get hurt lost or even killed. We live on 18 acres so its fairly safe for my Dolly, but I wish I had never started it, there are still so many dangers. Since she had her kittens I haven't allowed her out and seems like she is beginning to accept it, so I hope to keep her in. So please rethink this. Wanda
