Our cat Meowsky has developed bumps on her under-chin. First they look like blackheads, then eventually they grow larger and erupt. We took her to our vet, who diagnosed the condition as "some sort of a rash". so he gave her a shot of cortisone and some antibiotic tablets for us to give her at home.
after a couple weeks, it's no better. ideas?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

did the vet take a biopsy (like skin or hair sample)? this may be required to know exactly what this is. does she itch her chin alot? if so, might be ringworm which is contagious.
i would expect after 2 weeks that you would see improvement and if not you should let your vet know so they can take possible further steps. if this vet does not give you assurance that enough is being done (they should recommend something different at this point) then it might be a good idea to go elsewhere.
it sounds like feline acne which is typical cured with topical treatment.

Twidgie's Mom, check your PM...if after treatment and the problem persists, rule out food allergy.

Do you use plastic food and water dishes? If so, switch to glass or stainless steel immediately. Plastic has microscopic cracks which harbor bacteria, and is almost always a culprit of feline acne.
Do you wash her bowls daily? The fat from dry food can build up on the bowls and get on her chin, clogging the pores and causing acne. Wash her bowls in hot, soapy water daily.
Make sure her chin is very clean - when my kitties had acne, I used Stridex face pads (unscented, sensitive skin ones) on their chins every night. That, along with switching to glass bowls, cleared up the problem within a month.
