Molly Mae falls off edge of bed

Post by lkwood »

Molly Mae came to us via the Human Society and what a pleasant addition to our family. She's about a year old and was spayed when we got her and had an upper respiratory infection that required antibiotic and had problems with one of her eyes becoming filled w/ mucus. Once these cleared up, she was declawed. She tends to lay too close to the edge of the bed and falls off and this isn't because she is crowded. We will move her over towards the center but she ends up on the edge and falls off. My daughter, also, saw her fall off a chair in our living room. Is there something we need to be aware of? Having had cats most of my life, I do not recall one that fell off of things. We don't want her to get hurt!!!! Any comments are appreciated.

that interesting. it wasnt clear in your description as to when this began...when was it?

also, does she appear to fall off when she is maybe sleeping or near it as she rolls to her side? one of mine is somewhat prone to that at times.

My cat Booker falls off of things. She always has. Usually mid-sleep she'll roll over and off of what she's lying on! It IS sorta funny, but we do worry about her getting hurt. So, we always move her to the floor or the center of what she's sleeping on so it doesn't happen as often.

Thanks for replying. Molly Mae isn't sleeping when she falls. It's like she is laying with her back too close to the edge and off she goes. She has to do a flip or roll in order to land on her feet because she is falling back first.

its sounds like play to me (odd i agree, but funny), if you observe/notice nothing else out of the ordinary i wouldn't be concerned.

i would probably join in and play with her at those times, might be a good time to do that.
