problem - when i went to visit my parents on thanksgiving i didn't bring scrapper thinking it would cause stress for both sam and scrapps. so the first thing i did was look for sam and i took my time with him b/c he hasn't seen me since he was just a baby. i know that i "smell" like cat to another cat, but i had no idea that he was going to react to me the way that he did. sam hissed and growled and swatted at me (not just at my hands but at my face as well) and ran out of the room. my mom and dad just thought he needed some time to get used to me and the scent that was on me and that he would be fine in a little bit. there was no change in him the entire weekend i was there. he even swatted at my parents when they would go to pick him up. of course we were all upet b/c he is such a loving cat to my mom and dad. i know different cats have different personalities, but i have never experienced anything like that before. i have since been back to my parents house with the exact same reaction as before. i was just there this weekend and i swear i heard sam "bark" at me and then run up the stairs to get away from me. he'll play when i swing his toys in front of him, but i'm not allowed to come anywhere near him. i even brought scrapper over at christmas time and that's when the situation became really weird. he and scrapper played with each other the whole time. he never hissed or snarled or anything towards scrapper, they just ran around and then even slept together at times. i have no idea what's going on. i am the biggest animal lover in the world and would do anything for them whether they are my animals or not. at first my mom and i thought it was b/c of my scent, but scrapper never reacts that way when she comes over and smells like sam! and i'm catsitting right now and they don't react that when when they smell scrapper on me nor does scrapper act that way when he smells these cats on me either. i just don't understand and it's breaking my heart as well as my mom's!! someone please help me to understand why he hates me so much!!!
