Reccomendations for the prevention of Toxoplasmosis in cats and humans.
Cats:
do not feed raw or rare meat.prevents exposure to tissue cysts
Do not allow cat to hunt, same reason as above
Humans:
do not eat raw or rare meat: same reason
After handling or preparing raw meat, wash hands and surfaces with warm soapy water..in activates tissue cysts
Wash all fruits and vegetables before eating. Removes oocysts if present
Wear gloves while gardening or wash with warm soapy water after gardening. Prevents exposure to oocysts in soil
Change liter box daily, removes oocysts prior to becoming infectious.
High risk individuals should not change liter box to prevent high risk individuals (pregnant women exposure ) to oocysts

it is treatable but don't get it.....use all normal precautions...i posted that thing on may 10 2003...how the heck did it get reposted now?????????
