help with kitten

i've had the new kitten for about a day. he eats and drinks well, uses the litter box fine and is active. here's the problem....all he does is meow if i'm not petting him or near him. how long should I expect this meowing to go on? His vet appointment is in a few days. he's not in pain or anything he just crys all the time. Please help

Please have some patience with him for a few days. Just remember that he has been taken away from his Mama and siblings and placed in a new environment. Once he gets used to his new home and you he should calm down. Right now he's just expressing his confusion.
You might want to put a stuffed animal and a wind up alarm clock in his bedding to simulate his Mama/siblings and thier heart beats (clock ticking).
Spend some quality time with him, both cuddling and snuggling time and play time so he gets to know and trust you. Good luck with your new kitty and I hope his vet visit will go well!

I thought that it was just that, but I wanted to make sure. He slept with last night all through the night. As soon as I pet him he stops crying. I feel bad to leave him, but I have to go to work sometimes. My boyfriend gave him too me for an early Valentines gift. I wish I had a camera to take a picture. I names him Binx. Thanks for the advice. It back to american Idol for me
