Tips on giving medicine

I have to give medicine to my cat two times a day from a dropper. Are there any tips to make it easy for me to administer her medicine?

last time i had to do this, i would

• securely hold with my left hand behind the head...grab some flesh and hold (not to pain, just to keep head secure)
  
  use my right hand to press the dropper end into the cat's mouth while squeezing in the medicine only when head was tipped back a bit

would probably be best to do this when your cat is kinda sleepy, like just after a nap. what kind of problems are you having?

My "Sun" is the WORST when it comes to giving dropper meds. I found from experience... get him while he's sleepy (like mentioned above), then I sit on a chair or couch with his butt on the back so that he can't wiggle away from behind. I already have the dropper ready (in my teeth!), squeeze his little cheeks so that his mouth opens a bit, and ZING the whole dropper full in his mouth. (Not a little at a time, or you'll never get it all in!) Close his mouth, and stroke his throat 'til he swallows.
I became a PRO with that technique!

I got her her medicine this morning fine! Yay! The past few days I had tried holding her between my legs and putting it in that way and this morning I had her on top of the futon and held her mouth open with my fingers and used the rest of that arm to hold her and dropped it in quickly.

Before I was having trouble getting Emily to hold still, I would hold her mouth open and then she would run away.

Funny! I'm picturing my big siamese!! He doesn't like medicing either! I can not give pills for the dropper type I sneak it in in the coirner of his mouth an squeeze a bit at a time while holding the back of his neck also. Good luck.
