HELLO ALL I AM NEW TO THIS SITE SO I AM UNSURE AS TO WHETHER THIS HAS BEEN DISCUSSED BEFORE. I HAVE 2 KITTENS ABOUT 9 MONTHS OLD, AND I AM TRUCK DRIVER. MY KITTENS TRAVEL WITH ME OVER THE ROAD. RECENTLY MY MALE KITTEN HAS DEVELOPED REALLY STRONG SMELLING URINE. HE ONLY SEEMS TO GO IN THE LITTER BOX SO IS NOT SPRAYING, BUT I HAVE TO CLEAN THE LITTER BOX EACH TIME HE URINATES OR IT KNOCKS ME OUT. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS ONLY BECAUSE WE WERE IN SUCH A SMALL ENCLOSED SPACE, BUT AFTER GOING HOME AT CHRISTMAS TIME, & ENCOUNTERING THE SAME THING, HAVING TO CONSTANTLY CLEAN THE LITTERBOX, I AM CONCERNED FOR HIS HEALTH. HE IS A LARGE(REAL LARGE FOR HIS AGE) GREY STRIPE THAT IS ALOT LIKE GARFIELD, LAYS AROUND ALL DAY, DOESN'T GET EXCITED ABOUT MUCH AT ALL. HE IS NOT NUTERED,
AND OTHERWISE IN GOOD HEALTH. PLEASE HELP MY NOSE CAN'T TAKE MUCH MORE.
HELP!!!! MY KITTY SMELLS!!!!

Re: HELP!!!! MY KITTY SMELLS!!!!
If you are concerned for your cat's health, please take him to a vet to have him checked out for UTI, etc. You need to get your cats spade/neutered as soon as possible. This may help with the urine issue, and you can speak with the vet regarding any other problem that may be occurring. Also, as your cats mature, they will start to try to mate, not a good idea anyway, but certainly not in a truck! Plus, they may try to escape to find a new 'friend.' They are old enough (well so) to be spade/neutered. Good luck. kk

You can try a different kind of litter.
