Litter box will 2 help

I am a dog person but about 9 months ago I recieved a kitten. She is now 9 months old and I still don't quite understand her and need a little help.

Jedi is a great user of her litter box. It is the kind with a top so that she can feel private I hope. It is in the corner of the dining room area. We have an open floor plan where the kitchen diningroom and living room is open.

Jedi has started going into a quiet room off the kitchen, putting paper on the floor (it is an office and paper comes off my desk with her help) and urinates on it. She has not defacted in there just urinate and always on paper.

Should I get a second litter box for this area or move her current one to that area?

I'm just confused about moving her current box and wonder if that will cause more problems.

She is very healthy and happy other than that and loves her pet dogs.

Covered litterboxes are usually a problem for most cats, so start by taking the top off.

Cats prefer their boxes in private areas, not high-traffic areas (i.e, your dining area). Move the box to an area close to the dining area, yet ensuring it is a private area. The room off the kitchen she is using is a red flag to you she prefers a private area.

On the offchance you haven't had her seen by your vet, get an appointment made for her. Oftentimes, when a kitty urinates in unusual places or exhibits a new behavior, it can be a sign of developing urinary tract infection.
